Driver CD Installation

To start with, insert the CD driver in the CD tray of the system. It should automatically open the installation file. You must check for a popup box to press the Download button. Alternatively, go to your desktop’s My Computer folder and double-click the CD drive. Click the Setup or Install file once you are in the CD drive section. After installing the drivers, run the downloaded configuration file. Follow the installation file prompts to complete the installation. This will complete the setup of the Canon printer. You must make sure that the setup is done correctly with a test print. In cases where you have issues when running a test print or if you want to install only the printer without additional software, it can be done easily.

Follow these steps to install additional Canon drivers, or printer / scanner applications.

  1. Go to Canon support link.
  2. Enter your Model Canon in the box. Press it when your model pops up below the window.
  3. Type your product model name, and then click on its list below the text entry field
  4. To the right of your model’s image select Drivers & Downloads.

Specific exceptions

Note If you are using a Mac® or have some PIXMA TS, TR or CanoScan models, drivers are not available because they are using AirPrint technology to print/scan.
