Canon Pixma E510 Printer Connecting to the Internet

  • Before connecting your printer to the Internet, make sure the hardware configuration of the printer is complete. Ink cartridges and paper have to be properly loaded into the printer.
  • Then press the power button to turn on the printer. Then wait until the lamp light correctly.
  • Then press and hold down the Wi-Fi button to connect to the network. This button is located on the operating panel from the top of the printer.
  • Then, once the Wi-Fi light is steady, press “Color” from the operating panel.
  • Then the working panel starts to blink. Then wait for the power lamp to become stable.
  • Now press again the Color button.
  • This starts to light the wireless network lamp.
  • After that, wait for a stable Wi-Fi signal.
  • The power and Wi-Fi light will stop flashing and become stable after connecting your printer to the Internet.
  • This links your wireless printer successfully to the wireless network.
  • Next, you have to check the configuration of your printer. Make sure your printer is turned on for this. Also, make sure the paper tray contains at least 2 A-4 sheets.
  • Then press the Wi-Fi button and hold it until the power light blinks once. Release the button when the light blinks.
  • Then press again the Wi-Fi button. This way, the network details page will be printed.
  • Check the connection pointer in the printout. It must specify “Active” and the appropriate name for the wireless link must be indicated by SSID. This confirms your printer’s wireless connection setup.

  • First and foremost, open your device’s web browser.
  • After that, visit the help page for Canon.
  • This will guide you to the setup page of the printer driver.
  • Then click on the link you want to download from the printer driver.
  • This opens the download window of the driver.
  • You can now start the download process by clicking on the “Download” tab from the center of the screen.
  • In the center of the download process, you can save the file, pick the place to download, etc. Follow on-screen instructions to complete the download process successfully.
  • Next, you have to wait patiently while the printer driver is installing.
  • After that, you will install it on your device once the download is finished.


  • You need to link your device with the same wireless network your printer is connected to before beginning the installation process.
  • Afterwards, open your computer’s downloaded folder to get the downloaded setup file. If, at the time of downloading, you have changed the location, open the folder.
  • Now double-click on the printer driver’s downloaded setup file.
  • Next, if the permission dialog prompts the user account, click on the “Yes” option.
  • You can modify the language according to your preferences in the next tab. You must click on the “Language” link for that. This choice is available on the left side of the page. Tap on the “Ok” button after selecting the language.
  • Then click on the button “Next.” This button will be located at the bottom of the page.
  • Subsequently, select your place of residence in the next tab. Allow the range you want. Click on the button “Next” at the bottom of the page.
  • The license agreement window will now be shown. Read the entire agreement carefully and start by clicking the “Yes” button.
  • First, the expanded dialog box for the survey system will appear. If you want to participate in the program then click on “Agree.” Click on the “Do not Accept” option if you do not want to participate. It’s an optional step.
  • Click on the “Next” option to make “All Install Wizard Processes.”
  • The next firewall window will now be shown on your computer. Click on the link “Next.”
  • After this, you can see in the next window that the printer status is reviewed. Then click on the button “Next.”
  • Subsequently, select a printer link method in the next window. There are two options, Wireless LAN and a USB link. You are advised to click the checkbox “Wireless Lan Link.” Click the “Next” button after selecting the printer connection. This button is located at the bottom of the screen.
  • Next, remove the cable from the USB port to the printer. Click on the “Next” button after disconnecting it.
  • Then wait until the installation process starts.
  • Make sure your printer is turned on after that. Then click on the button “Next.”
  • The software then scans for any printers that are already built on your network. Detection may also take some time, so be careful as you look for a printer with the software.
  • In case your printer has already been connected to your network, select it from the list in the “Network List Printers” window. Then, press the “Next” button to start downloading the software.
  • Subsequently, enter the serial number of your printer in the field specified. Tap on the “Next” tab afterwards.
  • The MP drivers and network tools are subsequently downloaded and installed. Stay until the software is successfully installed in the system.
  • Then you have to wait until the installation is finished.

  • Now, if you are installing “Print Head Alignment” for the first time , it is recommended after the installation is complete. Then click on the button “Next.”
  • Tap on the “Execution” to perform a test print to verify installation. If you don’t want to print a check, click on the option “Next.”
  • The configuration process is now successfully completed subsequently. You must then press the “Next” button to install the software.
  • Select from the list the software you want to update. Then click on the button “Next.” This button is located at the bottom of the screen.
  • If you would like to authorize your printer, then click on the “Next” button. Tap on the “Skip” option otherwise.
  • Finally , click on the “Exit” option to finish the printer driver installation process. This finishes the installation.
